I had the supreme pleasure of a private 2 day tour with Andy in August. Picked up by my Highlander with a huge smile had me laughing and comfortable from start to end. Felt like a Queen. Scotland’s stunning countryside and history enhanced with Andy’s knowledge and passion was a once in a lifetime adventure. The tour was well organised in all aspects. Bucket list ticked off. ~ Sue
From the outset of planning and booking, Andy was quick with responding to emails and answering my questions. When our tour date came he was prompt; arriving at our hotel in a pristine van full of snacks and a child seat!
Andy shared a history of the locales but also a knowledge that came from being part of Outlander's filming and this was exactly what we were looking for... My mom and I have read all the Outlander novels and novelas and have watched every episode. We wanted the Outlander experience and that is exactly what Andy delivered.
My daughter is five and walking around old empty castles isn't exactly her idea of fun. Andy took the time to really make our tour special for her too. She even found a "buried treasure" at Lollybroch. She is still talking about Mr. Andy and asking when we can go back to see him.
I highly recommend Highlander Tours! Andy is knowledgeable and entertaining. He brings the old castles back to life. He thinks of everything you might need; from snacks to whisky to a life size Jamie Fraser. This was by far, my favorite two days of our ten day vacation. ~ Andrea

We recently completed a three day tour with Andy...For the two days we were with Andy we traveled from Edinburgh to Fort William, and back again, with numerous stop in between at places like Craigmillar Castle, Glencoe, and Culloden battlefield. At each stop, our guides were knowledgeable of the history and were excited to share this with us. My wife, who is a big fan of Outlander, was over the moon to see the sites where it was filmed and hear some insider information from people who have been in the series.
My mother-in-law booked the tour, and seemed to have good things to say about that process. It is clear that for these guys, it is as much a passion as it is a job. ~. Sam
What a spectacular day out! Andy not only knows Outlander inside out, but he also loves his country, people and history. Andy’s warmth and good humour made for an enjoyable trip around many beautiful locations. Our son loved the swords fights and tartan dress ups too. Anyone coming to Scotland must do Andy’s tour - 10 out of 10! David
I had the opportunity to spend 3 days with Andy touring Outlander sites in addition to the beautiful Scottish countryside. I travel quite a bit so my bar is pretty high....Highlander Tours exceeded my expectations. Andy’s Outlander knowledge and true love of Scotland made my trip one that will never be forgotten.I highly recommend!

History, culture, whisky, kilts and Outlander. What more could you ask? We had a brilliant day with Andy and learnt a lot. Fantastic tour for Outlander fans but plenty there for all those patient husbands who just come along to make their wives happy Andy gives the full history of a lot of places, as well as movies/TV shows the sites have been used it. I travel a lot and this is by far the best tour I've been on. Andy and Grant make you feel right at home and bring Outlander closer than ever before. They're both actors who have worked on the series and really know they're history and can amuse you with anecdotes of being on set. I need to go on one of the longer tours next time! ~ Cherry
Traveling around Scotland, on your own, is a good time. However, sightseeing with Andy, with Highlander Tours, is an absolute blast!!! Little did I know that a fun girls’ trip would change me, falling in love with a new country, people, and culture. Andy’s knowledge, history, and passion were outstanding and his level of service was impeccable!! Andy truly set the bar for the best tourist experience ever! It started as an Outlander sightseeing tour, but we experienced so much more. We saw more sights than planned, tried new drinks and foods, and had so much fun! To the moon and back, MANY MANY MANY THANKS to ANDY and HIGHLANDER TOURS for exceeding our Scottish travel dreams and for giving us such a phenomenal VIP experience! From the moment Andy picked us up we all, including the 3 shy children under the age of 8, were swept up in his enthusiasm and joy for Scotland. He seamlessly integrated the actual historical aspects of each site we visited along with aspects about the Outlander storyline and insight into the filming, actors and "offscreen antics" involved in the making of the Outlander series. Simultaneously he entertained the kids and non Outlander crew with historical legends, costumes, period sage weapons with which he instructed and "battled" with the kids.
I anticipated that the day around Culloden would be a test for young kids but it wasn't. During the historical presentation Andy took the kids to see some things of interest. We all walked the grounds and balanced the somber adult time with a stop at the highly interactive Highland Folk Museum, a search for Heilan' Coos, and some of the best pizza and Fish and Chips around.
The Outlander tour we did with Andy the Highlander was the absolute highlight of our trip to Scotland! We enjoyed the Outlander locations and behind the scenes stories as much as the historical details of the locations. We truly enjoyed Andy's passion for his work as an actor and tour guide as much as his appreciation for the author of the Outlander book series, the Starz show and what they both have done for Scotland and it's people. We highly recommend Andy and Highlander Tours. Andy knows how to deliver customer service going above and beyond to take care of us while also showing us a great time. Andy is the BEST! My husband and I did a private tour with Andy the week of New Years. Knowing many the sites would be closed Andy personally created a tour for us. He is very knowledgeable in history and Outlander. Since he was on the show he has “inside” information. Even if you have never heard of Outlander you will love his tours. Words cannot express how unbelievable our day with Andy was. Do not hesitate- GO WITH ANDY! ~ Heather
This is the only tour I would recommend. All the other tours were taking pictures of us and wishing they had taken our tour. Who else gets a shot of whiskey, gets to actually play sword fight and dress up? It was a real dream come true. And Andy gives a great tour with his knowledge of history and Outlander.A Definite MUST!!
Andy is so personable it feels like you’ve gone on a trip with a family friend. He took us to a little pub with the best food and such fun company.
His stories are interesting and fun. He obviously loves his job and his joy is contagious.
Even my husband who doesn’t like Outlander thoroughly enjoyed himself. Take this tour, you won’t regret it!! ~ Jenifer

Andy had so many stories to share. He went the extra mile and we had the best time! Completely engaged everyone...even those of us who tend to stay in the background found ourselves playacting! Meanwhile Andy went every step of every place with us, pointing out things we would never have noticed. He truly is the best guide I've had the pleasure to hang out with.

Andy McAlindon spent the day showing us around Outlander filming locations. He is very knowledgeable and has a friendly and easy way about him. We saw so many locations and he told us about Outlander but he also knew important and interesting facts about the locales. Even though he is very professional you feel a connection and the conversation is very easy. My friends and I had a blast his tour was amazing. I’ll definitely book another tour with him when I return in the future. Our family group of five adults booked a private 2 day Outlander Tour with Andrew MacAlindon ex Glasgow and had a wonderful time. In a previous career I worked in the travel industry and travelled quite a bit including many tours. Without a doubt Andy is the best tour guide ever. He not only talked, he listened and responded to our interests. My mobility had been limited by a previous injury but Andy was kind and patient and helped me to climb quite difficult terrain so that I didn’t miss anything. He is a lovely man. We learned a lot and had heaps of fun.

Highlander Tours MADE our Scotland vacation! Andy went out of his way at every turn- he was fun, informative, and kind. We had such fun with him on our 2-day Outlander Tour that we hired him for a third day (luckily he was available one additional day during our stay). Our third day was a bespoke tour- lots of history, tons of Outlander thrown in... just amazing! If you've got a plan in mind for Scotland that isn't exactly what is advertised, JUST ASK! He took us through the Highlands on a once-in-a-lifetime amazing trip. Visiting the Highlands with a true Highlander?!?! AMAZING! Everything was meticulously planned...
